Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

BIMYOURSELF is an editorial project by Gaia Romeo. This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected and used when you visit bimyourself.com, subscribe to email communications, express interest in BIMYOURSELF Practice or the BIMYOURSELF Mug, or contact us.

1. Data Controller

The Data Controller is Gaia Romeo, operating BIMYOURSELF.
Privacy contact: privacy@bimyourself.com

2. Personal Data We Collect

We collect only the data needed for the specific service or interaction you choose.

  • Newsletter: your email address, together with the source, version and timestamp of your consent and the evidence of double opt-in confirmation.
  • Practice interest: your first name, last name, email address, city, country and your specific choice to receive updates about BIMYOURSELF Practice and BIM Breathing Space. This interest does not automatically subscribe you to the general BIMYOURSELF newsletter.
  • Mug interest: your first name, last name, email address, city, country, optional telephone number and your specific choice to receive updates about the BIMYOURSELF Mug, including availability and the launch discount. This interest does not automatically subscribe you to the general BIMYOURSELF newsletter.
  • Contact form: your first name, last name, email address, country, optional topic and message.
  • Technical data: limited technical information necessary to deliver and secure the website, such as server logs and strictly necessary cookie or consent-preference data.

Release 0.5 does not use behavioural profiling or unnecessary profile enrichment. Name and location fields are collected only where they support the specific Practice, Mug or contact interaction chosen by the user. The Release 0.5 baseline does not use analytics, marketing trackers or profiling tools.

3. Purposes and Legal Bases

  • Newsletter: to send the BIMYOURSELF editorial newsletter, approximately twice a month. This processing is based on your consent.
  • Practice interest: to send updates specifically related to BIMYOURSELF Practice and BIM Breathing Space. This processing is based on your consent.
  • Mug interest: to send updates specifically related to the BIMYOURSELF Mug, including availability and the promised launch discount. This processing is based on your consent.
  • Contact requests: to read, manage and reply to your message. The data is used only for handling the request and is not used to subscribe you to marketing communications.
  • Website operation and security: to provide, protect and maintain the website and its essential technical functions.

4. Separate Choices for Email Communications

Newsletter, Practice and Mug communications are treated as separate choices. Selecting Practice or Mug updates does not automatically enable the general newsletter. Where a form offers more than one communication option, each optional choice is presented separately and is not pre-selected.

You can withdraw an email consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link contained in the relevant email or by contacting us at privacy@bimyourself.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Double Opt-In and Consent Records

BIMYOURSELF uses double opt-in for consent-based email communications. After submitting a form, you may receive a confirmation email. The requested email communication becomes active only after the confirmation step is completed.

Brevo is used as the system of record for email subscriptions and interests. The minimum consent evidence kept for this purpose includes the email address, the relevant communication choice, signup source, consent version, consent timestamp, double opt-in status and any unsubscribe or suppression status needed to respect your choice.

6. Service Providers and Recipients

Personal data may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf only to the extent necessary to operate the website and the services you request. These include:

  • Brevo (Sendinblue) for consent-based email communications, contact management, double opt-in records and transactional delivery of messages submitted through the Contact form. Contact-form submissions are not used to create marketing subscriptions or to enable Newsletter, Practice or Mug consent choices.
  • Website hosting, infrastructure, security and mailbox providers used to operate bimyourself.com and receive contact messages.

These providers are given access only to the data required for their role and are expected to process it under appropriate contractual and data-protection safeguards.

7. External Links and YouTube

The Practice page may contain a normal external link to a BIMYOURSELF demo hosted on YouTube. Release 0.5 does not embed YouTube content and does not load YouTube scripts, cookies or trackers on bimyourself.com before you click that external link. Once you leave BIMYOURSELF and access YouTube, the processing of data on that external service is governed by the policies of the external provider.

8. Cookies, Analytics and Tracking

In the Release 0.5 baseline, BIMYOURSELF does not use web analytics, the Brevo tracking script, profiling or marketing tracking. Only technologies that are strictly necessary for website operation, security and consent preferences may be used. More information is available in the Cookie Policy.

9. Data Retention

  • Unconfirmed double opt-in records: deleted after 30 days if the confirmation is not completed.
  • Contact requests: retained for 12 months after the request is closed, then deleted from the ordinary contact workflow.
  • Active newsletter, Practice or Mug consent: retained while the relevant consent remains active.
  • Consent evidence and suppression information after unsubscribe or withdrawal: retained for 5 years from the withdrawal or unsubscribe date, limited to what is necessary to demonstrate the previous choice and prevent unwanted re-subscription or sending.
  • Analytics data: not applicable in the Release 0.5 baseline because analytics is not active.

10. Your Rights

Subject to the conditions set out in applicable data-protection law, you may request access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability where applicable, or object to processing where a right to object applies. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

To exercise your rights, contact privacy@bimyourself.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection supervisory authority, including the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

11. Security and Data Minimisation

BIMYOURSELF applies reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to limit access to personal data, protect account credentials, reduce unnecessary logging and keep the information collected proportionate to the purpose for which it is needed. Marketing subscription data is not duplicated in the WordPress database as a separate mailing list. Contact-form messages are transmitted for email delivery and are not stored as a separate custom contact database in WordPress.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the website, its services or the applicable legal requirements change. The current version and update date are published on this page. Material changes affecting existing consent-based processing will be addressed before the new processing is activated.
